This is an Amish dairy farm near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I love the simplicity and the functionality of the buildings. I feel very fortunate to live near so much of this rich and beautiful farmland.
Yes, you are very lucky :) I've visited Amish country and still have friends who live there, too. It's beautiful country. Its easy to feel like your going back in time.
This picture also reminds me of how intelligent the Amish are. All their outbuildings are close to the main dwelling.
How I wish our barn was built closer to our house. Some folks thought I was nuts for building our chicken house next to the house, but it was the best thing we did.
It's so easy to step out and gather eggs and feed.
On the other hand, our barn is what up on a fairly steep hill at the other end of our 3 acres. Too too far. Especially in bad weather. gah!
