Sunday Stills - Textures

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is textures. This was a fun one for me as I started to spot texture everywhere.

A Mimosa flower from the tree in my backyard

An evergreen

Jet's mane. Even though he is so dark that he looks black, his mane has red strands in it.

Montero's mane. Women spend a fortune on their hair to get this kind of color.

Fresh bale of hay, stacked in our barn. This hay was cut and baled within the last week.

Japanese red maple leaves

One of the rails on the pasture fence.

Wonderful photos all. I am so envious of Montero's mane coloring. I'm a blonde, but have always thought it would be fun to be that particular auburn type color. So pretty!

Your fence rail gives me vertigo. I love your creative perspective on it. And the mimosa flower is so delicate and detailed. Well done!

That wood shot is immense, cool perspective and lines. There is no wood old enough around here :( Great submission this week :)

I like your header capture too and the quotes great. Your texture from that top flower to mane is terrific-

Thanks to everyone that visited the blog for this week's Challenge!

Chloe - it's the middle of summer here. That type of Japanese maple just happens to have red leaves. Pretty cool little tree.

Lisa - Montero mane is awesome and as he gets healthier it is coming in more with lots of colors mixed in. Don't feel bad about the word verification - my husband takes the most unflattering pics of me, usually mounting up where my butt looks huge.

I can smell that beautiful hay and how nice to see a mimosa. I haven't seen one in person since my childhood in Arkansas. Thanks! Carmon

And yes: I want Montero's mane on my head.

I have always love the Mimosa tree. When I was growing up the neigbors on both sides of us had these trees in their front and back yards. I always wished we had one too. Great pictures.

What a wonderful range of texture. This was one of my favorite challenges. You found so many to capture, and as you did you created lovely photographs.

I'd like the name of Montero's hairdresser please! Gorgeous mane. Also loved the Mimosa pic, makes me think of my childhood.
