Last night we had some severe thunderstorms roll through with the chance for hail. It's been very hot here the past few days (in the 90s) with high humidity which makes perfect conditions for a thunderstorm. Craig took my new camera, wrapped it in a plastic bag, and braved the elements to see if he could get some shots of the lightening. I'd say he was pretty successful. How about you??

Not bad considering he wasn't looking through the viewfinder
and the camera was on auto with a fast shutter speed
There's something really haunting about this last photo.
I think it's my favorite.

Yeah, that last one looks like some sort of monsters coming out of the gloom or something.
That's one awesome camera you have - mine could never take pictures of actually lightening bolts.
...and yes, Craig was "pretty successful"! :)
Wonderful. I was too tired to get the lightning last night. Maybe tonight. I love the second and the last photo. Awesome purple sky.
Wow there must have been a lot of lightning if that was all captured in auto mode! Great shots though, lightning is one of my fav things to photograph but we haven't been getting many opportunities lately!
He did good! It's difficult to catch lightning shots, unless there are a lot of them going off...and they are close by. eeek!
Gorgeous pics!
