About 8 years ago, we took a small cutting (like twig size) from a wisteria vine that my mother had in her garden. We stuck it in the ground along some lattice on T's swingset and hoped for the best. It grew into a green vine which we wound around the lattice. The first couple of years it didn't flower but we kept winding it around. And then it bloomed. The flowers are gorgeous and smell heavenly! This is what it looks like this year. It has completely taken over the top of the swingset and the lattice and has started to climb into the trees.

Very pretty and it smells nice..:-)
Gosh, we are jealous! My DH brought some seeds home from his sister's monsterous wisteria and is trying to start them in a pot. Her vine was so old all the young growth was too far up in the old tree to reach in order to get a twig. Since we were traveling the seeds were easier to harvest. We'll see. Yours is so beautiful. :)
a gorgeous wisteria...absolutely and postively!
one of my favorite vines.
have a wonderful week.
That reminds me of my grandmothers house. She had a beautiful wisteria vine by her front porch. Watch out for the bees:)
Thanks for the memories...
I wish things could grow as easily in my garden, but uhm... four equines are doing a good job at preventing general leaf growth! :-D They also have a sweet tooth for the entire stem!
Wow, that's amazing! I can't keep a plant alive for nothing!
What an utter delight, especially with the connection to your mother's garden.
