Sunday Stills - Vintage

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Vintage.  I took a pic of a turkey vulture soaring past the roof of the old barn.  I did some editing and added texture and he's what I came up with.  The barn is vintage and to me the pic looks like an old painting.

Sunday Stills - Reflections

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Reflections.  I took while riding Rooster on the trails at the farm.  I thought the reflection of the vine was so cool.

Sunday Stills - Transitions

This week's Sunday Stills is TransitionsFor this next weeks challenge I want you to photograph your interpretation of a transition……what comes to my mind is one that goes from the end of winter to the beginning of spring but you might want to do something uniquely different.

I am not a big fan of winter so I am completely happy with the first signs of spring.  In this area, daffodils are one of the very first flowers that bloom in the spring.  I snapped this while I was exploring the riding trails at the farm.  It sits just above the creek and I doubt it was deliberately planted there.

Sunday Stills - Corners

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Corners.  I thought that I would have a hard time with this one but when I went out in the cold this morning to take pics of the sunrise, there was a hay wagon that was perfect.

Sunday Stills - Portraits

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Portraits.  I didn't set out to take specific pics this week but did take two that I really liked (both involve horses of course!).

T's new project horse, registered name The Great Diversion.  Even though it's bright sunlight, I loved the way the light hit him and the pic just seemed to scream "selective color" to me.

Candid shot of T on the same horse.  I love the look on her face and the way her hair landed on her shoulders.  She wasn't aware that I was snapping away.

Sunday Stills - Focusing on the Foreground

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Focusing on the Foreground.  This was kind of a hard one for me in that I didn't really have any ideas.  I was walking around the pasture with my camera yesterday trying to get some pics of the horses with the autumn colors and thought this one fit the bill.

Sunday Stills - Water Droplets

Every week I look at the Sunday Stills Challenge for the week with the intention of definitely taking pics but life seems to intrude.  But I'm here this week!

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Water Droplets.  This one was pretty easy since the only weather we have lately is RAIN.  We've set rainfall records for both August and September, over a foot each month.

Sunday Stills - People

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is People.  Since it seems that all we do these days is horse shows, I decided to use a pic of my friend's daughter at one of the 4H shows.  These are the pony hunter riders lined up for the judge.

Sunday Stills Challenge - the Letter "F"

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is the Letter F.  I wracked my brain all week trying to think of something and then a little tiny frog (or it might be a toad but I'm sticking with frog and I really can't tell the difference anyway) crossed my path at the 4H show on Saturday.

Sunday Stills - Black & White or Sepia

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Black & White or Sepia.  I'm trying to get pics taken for each week's Sunday Still but it seems sometimes that I just can't get there...Anyway, back to Black & White or Sepia.

I'm not a huge fan of Black & White/Sepia (I really like vivid colors) but I thought this pic really lent itself to monochromatic.  This is Zip spiffed up and braided for the 4H grooming & showmanship requirement.  Something caught his attention while he was waiting in his stall and he posed for me.  I love it.  He's not a classicly pretty or handsome horse but there's something about him.  He's come along way since he stepped off the trailer 2 years ago.

Sunday Stills Challenge - Flowers and Wildflowers

I am finally back into the swing of things for Sunday Stills.  This week's challenge is Flowers and Wildflowers.  The early spring flowers in my garden are finally blooming and were covered in raindrops yesterday morning.  Makes for a gray day but pretty pics.

The grape hyacinth are starting to fade but I love the color

The lilac is going to bloom any day now - I love the smell of these flowers!

Sunday Stills Challenge - the Color Blue

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is the Color BlueAn easy challenge until you realize no SKY pics and no archives.  Ok, so I had to work for this one...

Sunday Stills - Canine Companions

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Canine Companions.  This was a fun challenge since my dogs are two of my favorite subjects to photograph.  Bandit isn't a big fan of the camera and is difficult to snap pics of because he turns away.  Zoey, on the other hand, is quite the ham and isn't bothered by the flash or the camera.

Sunday Stills Challenge - the letter "P"

I'm  getting back into the swing of things and back to Sunday Stills.  I missed searching around for photos to use for the challenge.  This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is the letter "P".  At first I didn't think that I would find anything but then I started to see all kinds of things.

P is for Pony.  His name is Nova.

P is for Pink on the jockey's silks.
P is for Puddles.  We got 3.5 inches of rain in a 24 hour period the other day which resulted in puddles.  Craig was cleaning the mud off his boots.

And last, but certainly not least, P is for Poop

Sunday Stills - Spring Preview

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Spring Preview - I don’t know about ya’ll but I’m sick of no color to photograph in winter. So with that lets dig into the archives for this week and lats see some color from previous springs and summers to warm us up a bit, more color and warmth the better..:-))

AMEN - I don't know about you but I too am sick of all of the drab lack of color that this winter has brought.  I am so ready for flowers and blooms of spring.  I chose one photo from last year, mostly because it just feels so hopeful.  We should see these returns in the next few weeks.

From March of 2010 - the crocus that are one of the first blooms to appear in my garden

Sunday Stills Challenge - Emotions

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Emotions - This weeks challenge it to post pics that will cause an emotion in the person who checks out your blog, not your emotion. Any emotion will do, this will be a fun challenge and try not to use archives, but they will work in a pinch.

The weather has been a huge factor for us this winter and has kept us completely preoccupied.  We have had some form of precipitation every 3-4 days so there hasn't been much time or energy for photos.  Because this challenge is about the emotion of the reader, I chose not to add a caption or a description.  Please tell in the comments what emotions this evokes for you.

Sunday Stills - Circles

This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is Circles.  I had no idea what I was going to use for this challenge.  We've been a bit preoccupied with the weather.

Craig took all the change out of his pocket and I thought this was perfect

And then I thought about perfect circles - rings
My engagement ring, wedding ring, anniversary band and my mother's wedding ring
