Macro Monday - Fungus

This is growing on a tree in the horse pasture.  It kind of blends in with the changing leaves.  I thought it was pretty cool.

Very neat mushroom shot! Although many 'ear' mushrooms are edible, some are incredibly toxic. There is an orange one here called Jack O'Lantern that actually glows in the dark (bioluminescent), but it could kill you in a heartbeat if eaten. I'm wondering if yours is the same one?

If so, cut one off and take it into a completely dark room and after your eyes have adjusted in 5-10 minutes you will see it glowing in great detail!
